Who We AreKMTA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting students with music teachers across the Katy area. Katy Music Teachers' Association (KMTA) is the local chapter of the Texas Music Teachers' Association (TMTA) which is part of the Music Teachers' National Association (MTNA). Our organization is made up of independent music teachers who pool their time, money, and resources to create opportunities for their students such as scholarships, ensemble experiences, competitions, tests, and many performance outlets. |

Our Mission Statement
Katy Music Teachers Association (KMTA), founded in 1979, exists for the purpose of enriching lives through music. It is KMTA's mission to help students develop musical talent and music appreciation. Under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced teachers, KMTA prepares students for and provides opportunities to participate in recitals, festivals, and a variety of competitions in order to accomplish its mission.
